The Daughter's Revenge by David M. Burns

Updated: Jun 14

A debut novel by an amazing indie author!

Therapist Peter Summers knows the sad truth about therapy: Not everyone can be saved. A client’s suicide leaves him with an intense guilt he can only silence with alcohol and sarcasm. Then the unthinkable happens. His client’s daughter makes it her life’s mission to destroy him. She’ll stop at nothing to inflict as much pain as possible on the man she blames for ruining her life.

But a twisted world means twisted people and it seems someone is out to get her too. If Peter doesn’t put the pieces together fast, they’ll both end up dead. The Daughter’s Revenge delves into our deep-seated need for retribution. This fast-paced thriller blends non-stop action with profound clinical insights. Let it pull you into a world where the patients are beyond help—and so is their therapist.

Peter Summers may help his clients navigate through their darkest hours, but can he use his skills and training to survive a vengeful daughter’s onslaught without succumbing to the darkness himself?

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this one, it made me excited to read the second. The suspense this book builds is quite remarkable, and it keeps you on edge until the very last chapter. I LOVE his style of writing, it's easy to follow and simple to understand. He's very descriptive, but not overly descriptive, which I appreciate. The story itself is colourful and very much alive. 5 Stars. Just read it.
